What is a calling card?
A prepaid calling card or phone card is defined as telecommunication credit card with an Identification Number for using a pre-selected long distance carrier.

Why use a calling card?
Prepaid long distance calling cards let you call more than 200 countries at bargain prices. You can call from almost anywhere: pay phones, the office, cellphone, even from outside Canada. Sold in denominations of $5, $10 and $20, calling cards are very convenient. You don't need a phone number, address or credit history to buy a prepaid long-distance card. You don't have to deal with bills. If you don't like a calling card, simply try buying a different brand.

How do I use a calling card?
Making the calls is easy. Just dial a 10-digit access number, followed by a personal identification number (PIN), followed by the long-distance number you are trying to reach. Detailed dialing istructions will be emailed to you with the calling card PINs.

Can I use a calling card while I'm not in Canada?
You can use the calling card anywhere where there is a local or a 1-800 access number. Most calling cards can be used in Canada and the United States. Surcharges may apply when not using a local access number.

What is a connection fee?
Some calling cards have a connection fee. Each time your call is answered, depending on the card type, you may be charged a connection fee which will be deducted from the available minutes. In some cases, especially when you use a calling card to make one long call, connection fee cards may offer better savings than cards with no connection fee.

Are the rates always the same, 24 hours a day?
Yes.

Do these cards expire?
Most of the cards have expiry date, please check it before buying the card.

How to check how much time is left on a card?
When you dial the access number, the system will tell you how much time you have left on the card.

How does Toronto Calling Cards' search work?
We use rates advertised by the calling card company and simple math to calculate the total number of minutes. These calculations do not take into account any maintenance fees or surcharges.
